Greed

What you see
On my face is hunger
Not greed

It‘s just
You don’t know
The difference

Fire and greed
The more it’s fed
The more it spreads

  2. You have touched upon a deep truth here-there can be no greed where even the basic necessities have not been met.

    1. Agree Mam,

We as a society are so much divided that some people can keep on feeding to their greed, whereas some people cannot even cater to the basic needs.

      Sad but true!

  6. Every haiku of yours holds such significance, a wealth of meaning carried in such few words. They force us to give pause and ponder before moving away.

    1. Thanks Meenakshi,

Every writing needs readers who read, analyse, criticise and assimilate. Only then the writing is complete. Your comments make my haiku worth the efforts.

  10. It takes discernment--does it not?--to recognise the difference between greed and what appears to be greed.

  12. Beautiful offerings Meenakshi! It has been said there're lots of unfairness in this world. Unfortunately it's compounded by acts of greediness that make the situation more serious. Your wise words captured this very well! Nicely!
