Verdant

A light of pure love
Compassion envelops earth, fantasy
Of a naïve mind

Vines, shrubs, mighty trees
Thorns, grass of antiquity
blank paper, idle pen

For: Carpe Diem
Pictures taken from: Google search

  1. How picturesque. It is not the fantasy of a naive mind, but the eternal hope of an optimistic one!

The picture you've used for the second haiku is actually kinda creepy :D

    1. Thanks for appreciating!

The second one is like how we feel at times, ideas crop up in the jungle of mind, take various shapes but still nothing worth the pen and paper. Hence the picture.

  6. The first haiku spins a delirious scene that is not all it seems or can be! And love the comparison in the second haiku with the state of "writer's block"!

  12. How well I know the blank page and idle pen! But my heart goes to your first verse. I too wish for its inhabitants to be more compassionate toward green earth mother. Well done!!

  13. The image and the words of the first Haiku are simply out of the world...
Thankfully an idle pen does not mean an idle mind, it only means overcrowded mind.

  15. I loved the way you talk of love and compassion, and then put it across "fantasy of naive mind."

The 2nd haiku ponders in deeper territories, perhaps "blank paper and idle pen" explores the phases that we all encounter while writing.

    Wonderful set !!!

  18. Hi Meenakshi,

Lovely Haiku, both of them. Naive, blank and idle, somehow making a connect there. Keep up the good work :)
