Shades of Red

Defiled
Torn, she lies in her
Pool of blood

Ogling eyes
Relish naked corpse, lame
Helping hands

Burning eyes
Burning cheeks, part anger
Part shame

  1. Your words evoke a heart wrenching feeling... Its time people move from mere lip-sympathy and actually stand up to injustice.

  2. I know the inexplicable feeling of guilt and shame that floods a harassed girl in India, as though she was somehow responsible for this happening to her. And the lack of any real support from society. Lame helping hands is all that any of us provides to victims in our country.

An anguished cry for help... beautiful!

    1. Real support is surely lacking, some fake sympathy, some blaming fingers, and eventually apathy is all what a victim gets in return.
