    1. I know it is little pessimistic, but accepting a life without vision can push you towards pessimism for a while.

    1. Coming to terms with the loss and searching for meaningful ways of existence. Many blind people have excelled in the fields of arts and music.

      Thanks Hazel!

  16. What dusk is this that seals the world in perpetual darkness?

    1. Blindness. When it happens to a person, it seals his world in an unending darkness.

      Thanks for visiting!

  18. I'd like to think that the blind could offer vision that extends beyond sight. A friend lost the sight in one eye recently. It is irreversible. I wrote him:

    just as beautiful
    no matter how many eyes
    look upon the world

thanks for your visit and kind comments at my blog

    1. Yes it is irreversible. One needs a lot of courage to come to terms with this loss.

When I close my eyes for meditation, I experience an heightened sense of sound, and some how an overall increase in awareness. I think The blind do have that increased awareness.

  22. And you? How do you feel? Do you prefer the dark, or long for the day, Meenakshi?

    1. I did, thanks for the great suggestion!

Dark and light both have their importance, if day fill you with energy, dark soothes your fatigued body and mind and lulls you to sleep. Byt th perpetual dark is scary.

      Thanks a zillion!

  25. I believe that perpetual darkness can really only exist when the attitude is perpetually dark! Day may never dawn physically for the blind, but there can be light within!
